Frequently Asked Questions about Transformation
Q. How can I get involved in my city? A. Please make use of the many strategic tools free on this website. Also, we would be honored to serve you by coming to your city and meeting with a handful of leaders who have a love and commitment for your city.
Q. What do I do to join in transformation? A. There is no membership, ask God to start with you. One of the most fundamental changes is to begin prayer walking in your own neighborhood, school or business. You don't need to knock on doors. Just walk by and pray blessing and the peace of Jesus. As Ed Silvoso says: "Talk to God about your neighbor before you talk to your neighbor about God."
Q. What about evangelism? A. Prayer evangelsim is a whole new concept. Instead of confrontation (as with "if you died tonight...") it is easier to simply offer to pray for them. Tell your waiter you always give thanks for your food, and then offer to include him in your blessing. It is fun to bless people and they rarely turn you down.
Q. Is this a top down or grass roots movement? A. Grass roots! One of our main desires is to serve Christians in cities and towns throughout North Carolina. We only seek to help facilitate your efforts. God is doing the work by His Spirit. We all simply team together with Him.
Q. Is there a charge to list my city on the website? A. No, it is offerred freely to serve the body of Christ.
Q. Is transformation a new denomination? A. No, it involves people and churches from a broad spectrum and is therefore truly transdenominational. We believe there is only one church in a city, with many congregations, but ONE in Jesus!
Q. Is it for pastors only? A. Definitely not! There are pastors, business leaders, homemakers, intercessors, students. Some pastors lead their whole chuches to be part and some come by themselves.
Q. How is leadership handled? A. Each city forms its own group of servant leaders. It usually starts with a cohesive group of as few as two or three pastors and/or marketplace ministers. It is more important to be one in vision in the beginning than try to be inclusive of all. Once functioning, the Lord Jesus will add all who desire to jump in! Intercessors are "special forces!"
Q. What is the role of Ed Silvoso and Harvest Evangelism in North Carolina? A. We believe God is birthing something in all of us for North Carolina. We are pregnant with His purpose. Translocal ministers come in to serve as "midwives" to assist in the birth. They do not "have the baby", we do. They come to serve. |
